HARVEST 2009
At the end of August we had a heatwave with temperatures over 100 degrees for 10 days. The sugar levels in our grapes spiked and we had to harvest right away. So we quickly got a crew together and harvested on September 1. Everything went well, but we just barely beat a rare September thunderstorm. As we were cleaning off and putting away the crusher-destemmer the lightning was flashing over the nearby mountain.
IN THE NEWSPAPERS
We got a mention in a San Diego Union Tribune article on east county vineyards in the September 28 edition of the paper. Then we were featured in a brief article in the La Jolla Village News when we participated in the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival on October 10 and 11. The event was a big success and we got some great exposure to folks in the western part of the county. Here's a copy of the article:
